Driverless vehicles

From the New York Times on Driverless vehicles: there is a proven technology that lets people do other tasks while traveling. It is called transit carries millions of people and is safer than driving.
Autonomous vehicle research can lead to better systems that assist drivers making vehicles safer and more efficient. But taking transit is easier than autonomous vehicles if you do not want to drive.
